Many people have wondered what it would be like if animals could talk. A few people asked if they can sing jazz and sing vocal solos! However, this is exactly what Tico does with his friend and owner Frank Sr.
Frank is an excellent piano player. He starts by playing the classic jazz standard “Makin’ Whoopee”. Tico seems perfectly content to be standing on Frank’s piano as it vibrates with sound.
Tiko is patiently waiting to add his amazing vocals to the song. Once he starts, it’s hard to believe that the sound is coming from his beak! He really wobbles! Like the great jazz legends that came before him, Tico sings like Louis Armstrong or Ella Fitzgerald.
Frank is wearing a yellow shirt, and Tico’s green feathers and body are reflected in the piano’s black lid. His yellow head moves slightly when he sings, but he is otherwise perfectly still.
Frank starts the second song of the “You Must Have Been a Pretty Baby” medley. He looks at Tiko in amazement. The parrot is patiently waiting for the piano. He sounds like he’s picking the exact moment to improvise the vocals at some point.
Tiko’s beak moves with his syllables, and his tongue sticks out of his beak on long notes. He stands perfectly still, reciting the melody that complements the beautiful piano playing.
Tiko seems to like to choose when to add his vocals. He leaves room for a piano of some sort, then calls out some staccato syllables. This parrot expresses himself with soulful singing! This is one of the most unique and incredible performances you will ever see.
