Brad Pitt’s biological child and daughter, Shiloh, had tongues wagging when she revealed she wanted to be called by a boy’s name. After recently going viral for her dance skills, Shiloh’s famous father had something lovely to say about her.
Brad Pitt and his former wife, Angelina Jolie, share six children; one of them is their biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. The couple’s daughter was welcomed on May 27, 2006.
She was born at the Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia, Africa. The country happened to be where her family had been spending some time for a few months when she was welcomed.
In November 2008, Brad appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show for an interview where he spoke about Shiloh and his other children. At the time, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” actor’s daughter was only 2½ years old.
Her father revealed that Shiloh wanted to be called Peter or John. Brad explained that whenever they used her nickname, “Shi,” the little girl would insist that her name was John and would only respond to it.
The actor hilariously recalled how he’d ask his daughter, “John, would you like some orange juice?” and Shiloh would reply, “No!” anyway! He described the new quirk as something cute to him and his wife and other parents.
However, he figured it probably came of obnoxious to other people. In 2010, Angelina told Reuters that when Shiloh was growing up, she’d thought of herself as “one of the brothers,” and the family supported her fashion choices, with the “Wanted” actress noting:
“I think she is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting.”
The actress felt socially always had something new to learn regarding how we labeled and judged each other. She thought we still had far to go with learning about individual representation.
The source alleged that part of what formed the bond was that the pair shared the “same passions.” Brad also made it a point to spend time with all his children despite his ongoing custody battle and separation from Angelina.
The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor would allegedly see his children in a private setting. Besides Shiloh, Brad’s other children are Maddox, Vivienne, Knox, Zahara, and Pax; however, the star was “particularly close to Shiloh.”
According to the insider, Brad and Shiloh had a fun, loving, and authentic relationship, and the pair were “cut from the same cloth.” In the past, the actor had gushed about his love for all his children.
