Hayley Strong, 23, watched the home of Brittany Downing and Josh Ellis burn a mile away in Fairfield around 1 a.m. on July 5, according to ABC 7. She was returning home from her boyfriend’s party on July 4. July and was almost home When I noticed black smoke above the trees.
“Your friends’ garage is on fire!” Hayley can be heard saying on the family’s doorbell camera.
Josh and Brittany lay in bed while their nine children slept, completely unaware that a fire had broken out because their smoke detectors failed to go off.
Haley knocked on the door for about two minutes before Josh answered.
“Honestly, I thought it was just a rogue firecracker or something at first, but I knew I wasn’t going to sleep that night if I didn’t at least get in the car and see what was happening,” Haley told the Daily Mail.
Everyone managed to escape from the house unharmed.
“All the other results that would have happened if she hadn’t stopped and knocked on the door, I don’t know if I’d be here today for the kids,” Brittany told WLWT.
