Katy Perry and the finalist of the 7th finale of American Idol Hunter Metts held a special performance in the season finale on May 23.
The Idol judge and former contestant performed the song “Thinking of You” live in Los Angeles, California. In the three-hour finale, American Idol also played Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, Sheryl Crow, Alessia Kara, Leon Lewis, Mickey Guyton, Luke Combs, Macklemore, Chuck Khan, Fall Out Boy, as well as idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Of the star performers in the final, the Top 3 also came out, including Chasey Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence. Idol also invited several Top 24 contestants to perform in the finale, including Alice Ray, Arthur Gunn, Cassandra Coleman, Casey Bishop, Deshawn Gonsalves, Hunter Meth, Philip Murphy and many others.
